PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sour Diesel (ranked 1910 p4p, 2293 weight class) and Noah Berthier (ranked 235 p4p, 277 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diesel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Berthier was well out of range. Poor timing from Diesel.

Berthier gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Diesel has had enough of the clinch but Berthier keeps him there for the moment.
Diesel blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Nice body punch from Diesel - that landed with a thud.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Berthier.

Berthier has a couple of punches blocked by Diesel.

Still in the clinch, Diesel scores with a nice short uppercut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Diesel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Berthier has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Berthier there as he acknowledges the shot.

Diesel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sour Diesel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Berthier blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Diesel lands with a short head shot on the inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Diesel creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Berthier swings away with an uppercut that misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Diesel.
Diesel lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Berthier backwards.
Diesel tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Berthier's elbow.

Diesel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Diesel connects with a looping right hand.
Diesel smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Both fighters circling a little - Diesel finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Diesel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Berthier stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Berthier looks winded!
A punch lands to the side of Berthier 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Diesel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Diesel is looking to land body kicks.

The fight stays on the outside here - Berthier looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Berthier takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Berthier on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Nice straight punches there by Diesel. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Diesel.
Diesel throws the kick towards the body but Berthier avoids it.
Diesel takes a swing at Berthier's ribcage but misses.

Diesel throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Diesel lands a big uppercut and Berthier crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Berthier looks OK. Diesel waves Berthier back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Berthier gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Diesel gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sour Diesel!
After winning the bout, Sour Diesel thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Noah Berthier stepped up to the mic, saying 'I lost I know but I'll be back... next time I win...'.
