Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Runnin Rookie (ranked 4624 p4p, 3983 weight class) and Jack Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Runnin Rookie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Shepard!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepard shoots for a double leg takedown but Rookie sprawls well. He's pushed Shepard's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Shepard or perhaps it was just good defense by Rookie, which made it look bad.
Shepard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rookie.
Rookie lands a nice hook to Shepard's body. Shepard takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Shepard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rookie tries to avoid it but Shepard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rookie to the ground. Rookie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Runnin Rookie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Shepard.
Rookie rushes Shepard and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rookie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shepard fails with the takedown.
Shepard shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shepard lands a nice short elbow.
Shepard frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rookie is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Rookie definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Shepard lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Shepard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
