PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Smyth (ranked 23009 p4p, 4446 weight class) and Unicorn Big Foot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Unicorn Big Foot told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, William Smyth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Unicorn Big Foot!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smyth closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smyth lands in his opponent's guard.

Big Foot has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Smyth is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Smyth is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Big Foot still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Big Foot has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Big Foot working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Big Foot might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smyth haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Smyth has one foot on Big Foot's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Smyth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Big Foot avoids it really well and circles away.

That was a close round but I would say that William Smyth will probably get the nod.
