Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Macacua (ranked 4410 p4p, 5405 weight class) and Chris Pass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Pass!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Macacua drives through and clinches with Pass against the cage.
Macacua wants to stall.

Pass drops back looking for a leg! Macacua is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Macacua manages to kick Pass off! Pass jumps back into Macacua's guard.

Pass stands up and waves to Macacua to follow him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Macacua darts in and clinches Pass up against the cage.

Macacua wants the takedown. Pass is fighting it off but Macacua persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pass's guard against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pass tries to keep at a distance but Macacua has taken the fight into the clinch.

Macacua throws a wild body kick that Pass sees coming a mile off.

We've been informed that Pass has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Macacua shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pass's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pass wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Pass pushes Macacua off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Pass lands with a nice body punch.
A head kick misses from Pass.

Pass throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Macacua rushes Pass and presses him up against the cage.

Macacua has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Pass is trying to keep an underhook but Macacua manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Pass has one foot on Macacua's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pass keeps control of Macacua as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pass escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jake Macacua.
I think Macacua has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
