Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eli Mongomery (ranked 4461 p4p, 4324 weight class) and Popeye Marino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marino has chosen Millonario al tiro as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marino shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mongomery is trying to defend but Marino finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Mongomery is pushing Marino's head away, looking to escape. Marino manages to hold on to the position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Marino closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mongomery did well to prevent Marino getting side control.

Marino lands a left and a right that send Mongomery crashing to the mat, dazed. Marino thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Marino lands a big shot there that rocks Mongomery but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Marino has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Marino has hold of Mongomery's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mongomery manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Marino has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mongomery has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Mongomery is trying to defend against the choke here but Marino has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Marino Tightens the hold and Mongomery taps out furiously! Marino displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

A very excited looking Popeye Marino rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
