The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Drake Frost has been cut.
Frost tries to close the distance and clinch but Aceves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aceves swats away the attempt to clinch by Frost.
Drake Frost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It seemed like Aceves was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Aceves throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Frost's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Aceves dives in looking to finish as Frost flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Aceves's strikes! Aceves is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Frost's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Frost was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
