Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jan Sokol (ranked 1584 p4p, 1978 weight class) and Batang Kock (ranked 114 p4p, 137 weight class). Kock is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I will axe kick you, and I am not careful.. Jan Sokol has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Sokol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Batang Kock!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sokol takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kock keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Sokol closes the distance and clinches.
Kock blocking some punches.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Kock.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kock misses with a short punch on the inside.

Kock's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kock scores with a sloppy right hand. Sokol should have avoided that one.
Sokol takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Kock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sokol circles away quickly and effectively.
A jab from Sokol finds it's way through Kock's defenses.
Sokol lands with a kick to the ribs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kock throws a nice looking combination but Sokol bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kock misses with a wild body shot.
Sokol digs a good body shot into Kock's ribs.

Kock changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Sokol really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A swing and a miss from Sokol.
Kock lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Sokol looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sokol looks to score with a jab to the body but Kock is just out of range.
Kock throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Kock takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sokol misses with an uppercut.

Sokol pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sokol throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kock.
Kock has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kock steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sokol.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sokol.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sokol gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kock.

Sokol pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sokol lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kock is looking to land body kicks.
Sokol throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kock counters with a straight right hand.
Kock moves out of range of the leg kick from Sokol.
Sokol misses with a straight left.
Sokol misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sokol keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kock scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sokol doesn't seem bothered though.

Kock clobbers Sokol with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Nice uppercut lands for Sokol. That snapped Kock's head back.
Kock scores with a spinning back kick!
A thudding body kick lands there by Kock!

Sokol moves into the clinch.

Kock manages to break the clinch.
Sokol misses with a body shot
and Kock counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sokol has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kock.
Sokol throws a lazy head kick
and Kock counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kock throws a body kick that misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Sokol misses the target.
Sokol throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A nice side step and Kock releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Kock leaves Sokol with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A left and a right from Kock both land. Nice combination.
Sokol misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sokol throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Kock counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sokol swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sokol ducks under a wild hook from Kock.
Sokol throws a head kick that misses
and Kock counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sokol throws a hook but Kock avoids it easily.
A jab from Sokol misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sokol throws a head kick that Kock semi-blocks.
Sokol thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sokol misses with an uppercut. Kock saw that one coming.
Kock lands with a thumping leg kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Batang Kock will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Kock throws a front kick that sends Sokol stumbling back into the cage.
Kock keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sokol.
Sokol takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jan Sokol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kock blocks a head kick by Sokol.
Kock gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Sokol counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sokol.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sokol's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Kock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sokol doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sokol manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sokol lands a couple of digs.

Kock is looking for a triangle but Sokol pushes his legs off easily.
Sokol makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Sokol postures up in Kock's guard and throws a big left but Kock blocks it.
Sokol trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Sokol stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Kock has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Sokol manages to get his head free but now Kock has transitioned to an armbar! Sokol grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Kock! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Batang Kock!
Batang Kock tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
