Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between g volk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayato Kaneda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, g volk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hayato Kaneda!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

volk has managed to clinch.
Kaneda fails to pull guard.
Kaneda tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. volk just stands there and leans against the cage.

volk has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kaneda regains guard immediately.
volk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kaneda swivels though and keeps the full guard.
volk trying to control but Kaneda is working from the bottom.
volk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kaneda on the ground.
Kaneda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. volk manages to get himself to full guard.
Kaneda thows a big elbow that misses.
Kaneda won't allow volk to sweep him here.

Kaneda passes volk's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kaneda is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But volk has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from volk!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

volk feints and as Kaneda raises his hands in defense, volk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

volk postures up in Kaneda's guard and throws a big left but Kaneda blocks it.

Kaneda stuffs the takedown attempt from volk. volk gets slowly back to his feet.
Kaneda looks for a takedown but volk sprawls well.
A bone on bone clash there as volk blocks the leg kick.
volk fails with an attempt to clinch.

volk fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kaneda, pushing him back against the cage.
volk gets through Kaneda's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kaneda counters with a good low kick that volk was not able to check.
Kaneda misses with a takedown attempt - volk sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Kaneda counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in volk's guard now.
Hayato Kaneda has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kaneda is standing up over volk. volk looks to escape but Kaneda dives into side control.

Kaneda is looking to stand up but volk won't let him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
volk not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kaneda avoids the head kick by volk.
volk doesn't manage to clinch there - Kaneda circles away.

and Kaneda counters with a nice double leg into side control. volk won't be happy with that.

Kaneda is working to tighten is grip on volk's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. volk has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kaneda is really squeezing tight and eventually volk passes out! Kaneda breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
