Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Blevins (ranked 2076 p4p, 3937 weight class) and John McCoy (ranked 275 p4p, 439 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blevins tries a head kick but it misses.
McCoy's coach down at Elite Boxing Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McCoy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Blevins throws a nice outside leg kick.
Blevins wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Blevins half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
McCoy checks the leg kick nicely there.

McCoy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blevins swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McCoy might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

It seemed like McCoy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

The crowd cheers as McCoy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Blevins doesn't seem phased though.

McCoy pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Blevins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McCoy walks away with a smile on his face. Blevins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
McCoy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Blevins clobbers McCoy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
John McCoy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

McCoy throws out a counter right but Blevins avoids it with no problem.
McCoy's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

McCoy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Blevins backs up against the cage.
McCoy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Blevins walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. McCoy checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

McCoy cracks Blevins with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Blevins tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but McCoy pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Blevins is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
