The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Maine slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Maine has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maine advances to half guard.
Maine is taking a breather. Marcos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Marcos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maine uses his free foot to push down on Marcos's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Marcos.
Maine wants to take Marcos's back here but Marcos is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Marcos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Maine throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Marcos has his hands clasped together but Maine breaks the hold and Marcos is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Maine!
