PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pinky Eye (ranked 3282 p4p, 2363 weight class) and Xigua Tou (ranked 380 p4p, 302 weight class). Eye comes to the cage accompanied by Antti Tuisku - Grind mayhem. Tou is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gwen Stacy - Gone Fishing. See You In A Year.. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Xigua Tou!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eye will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tou is defended easily by Eye.

Eye shoots in and gets a takedown into Tou's guard.
Eye definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Tou is trying to keep Eye in close.

Tou working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Eye doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Eye manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Eye makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Eye wants to control from the top but Tou keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eye is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Tou looking to hit a scissor sweep but Eye is one step ahead there.

Tou is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Eye has a hand on Tou's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Tou takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Eye has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tou lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Eye hang on?

Tou misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tou swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Eye is now in Tou's guard. A big mistake from Tou there, giving up the dominant position!

That was a close round but I would say that Pinky Eye will probably get the nod.
That's time! Eye's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Eye goes for an armbar but Tou turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tou.
Eye bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tou's guard.

Tou is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Eye is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tou is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tou has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Eye bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tou's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tou pulls Eye in close to his closed guard and prevents Eye from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Eye, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
