The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fiachna is defended easily by Diesel.
Fiachna changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diesel tries to avoid it but Fiachna manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diesel to the ground. Diesel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Diesel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fiachna.

Fiachna shoots in looking for a takedown. Diesel tries to sprawl out of it but Fiachna keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Diesel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fiachna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diesel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

We've been hearing good reports from Fiachna's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
