The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chai Jr throws a head kick but Martinez moves out of range.
Martinez moves out of range as Chai Jr throws a body kick.
Martinez lands with a cross.

It looks like Akimbo Spice Chai Jr has been cut.
Chai Jr lands a nice leg kick that just misses Martinez's sensitive parts.
Chai Jr thows a left - swing and a miss!
Chai Jr misses with a head kick.
Chai Jr looks to land a body kick but Martinez moved away.
Martinez swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Martinez swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Chai Jr looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Martinez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Chai Jr.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martinez jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Chai Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A little jabbing left from Martinez on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Nice straight punches there by Martinez. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Martinez.
Chai Jr connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Chai Jr throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Chai Jr's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Martinez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Chai Jr scrambles back to his feet.

Martinez tried to score with a low kick but Chai Jr checks it.
Chai Jr is looking to counter with head kicks.

Martinez moves into range and connects with a jab.

Martinez drops Chai Jr with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Chai Jr looks back up at him and smiles so Martinez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Chai Jr is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Martinez sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Chai Jr's defenses. It connects perfectly with Chai Jr's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

A relieved looking Marco Martinez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
