Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Franco Fajardo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michiel Kortenhorst!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fajardo shoots in and bounces Kortenhorst off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kortenhorst is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fajardo is aware though and is defending well.

Kortenhorst escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fajardo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fajardo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kortenhorst's head.

Kortenhorst is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kortenhorst trying to keep a closed guard but Fajardo is proving a slippery customer.
Kortenhorst looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fajardo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fajardo trying to control but Kortenhorst is working from the bottom.
Kortenhorst wants to sweep but no luck.

Kortenhorst looking for subs off his back but Fajardo has passed one foot through into half guard.
Fajardo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Fajardo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Fajardo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kortenhorst defends it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fajardo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Fajardo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Kortenhorst looking for submissions off his back.
Fajardo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kortenhorst actively working from the bottom here.
Kortenhorst wants to get back to full guard but Fajardo has passed into side control.
Kortenhorst is trying to improve his position.
Kortenhorst looks to move to half guard but instead Fajardo has passed into mount! Damn!

Fajardo looking to control but Kortenhorst is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kortenhorst tries to lock up and control but Fajardo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kortenhorst is looking to improve his position but Fajardo isn't that keen on the idea.
Fajardo trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kortenhorst taking shots to the head.
Fajardo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

It looks like Michiel Kortenhorst has been cut.
Kortenhorst gets back to half guard.
Kortenhorst gets full guard.

Fajardo is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kortenhorst has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Fajardo is looking to defend but Kortenhorst has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Fajardo! Kortenhorst pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Fajardo taps out and this one is all over!
