Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cathal O Doherty (ranked 2236 p4p, 1399 weight class) and Eric Draven (ranked 98 p4p, 69 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cathal O Doherty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Draven!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Draven tries to land a body kick
and O Doherty counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Draven uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by O Doherty.
Draven throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
O Doherty throwing a counter right hand but Draven manages to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
O Doherty does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Draven doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
O Doherty pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Draven was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Draven throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
O Doherty tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Draven was well out of range. Poor timing from O Doherty.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Draven misses with a low kick as O Doherty jumps back.
O Doherty half committed to a counter leg kick.
O Doherty fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Draven has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
O Doherty takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Draven connects with a solid leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cathal O Doherty.
Well O Doherty has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
