The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Buddha closes the distance and clinches.

This has been an exciting period of action!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Buddha has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Lei is fighting off a takedown attempt but Buddha is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lei to the mat. Lei regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Lei is wriggling around but Buddha manages to pass to half guard.

Buddha has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lei defend it? Buddha steps over the head and cranks it - Lei is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Buddha!
