Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jimmy Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldberg fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Goldberg keeps the fight on the outside.
Goldberg stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Goldberg wants it to stay on the feet.
Goodman shoots in looking for a takedown but Goldberg manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Goodman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Goodman shoots in for a takedown but Goldberg shows good takedown defense.
David Goldberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Goodman.
Goldberg pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Goldberg circles away from the clinch attempt.

Goodman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Goodman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goldberg tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Goldberg definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Goldberg will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Goodman feints the counter takedown.
Goodman tries to clinch there but Goldberg circles away.
Goldberg displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Goodman.

and Goldberg counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Goodman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Goldberg scores with a couple of short elbows.
Goodman takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Goldberg looks up at the clock and then as Goodman takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Goldberg smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Goldberg connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Goodman some visible discomfort.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goldberg takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Goldberg avoids the attempt from Goodman to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goldberg cracks Goodman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Goodman is rocked!
Goldberg lands a big elbow - Goodman is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Goodman is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). David Goldberg!
In his post fight interview, David Goldberg started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
