Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hideki Nakamura (ranked 792 p4p, 519 weight class) and Glen Hoddle (ranked 110 p4p, 73 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hideki Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Glen Hoddle!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hoddle manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Nakamura on his heels. He'll look to pass Nakamura's guard now, I'm sure.

Hoddle is pushing down on Nakamura's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nakamura is fighting to maintain full guard but Hoddle has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hoddle works over Nakamura with some ground and pound from guard.

Nakamura looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hoddle is one step ahead there.
Nakamura utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hoddle wants to control from the top but Nakamura keeps moving.
Hoddle chips away with some ground and pound.
Hoddle landing some decent shots from guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hoddle's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Nakamura controls Hoddle momentarily but Hoddle frees himself.

Nakamura escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hoddle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nakamura looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hoddle has picked Nakamura up and slammed him! Nakamura can't keep hold of the triangle and Hoddle manages to pass to side control!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hoddle scores with a couple of short elbows.
Nakamura tries to improve position but can't.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Glen Hoddle dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Nakamura throws a front kick that sends Hoddle stumbling back into the cage.
Nakamura takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nakamura misses with a wild body shot.
Hoddle drops his hands momentarily and Nakamura takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nakamura walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Hoddle shoots in but no luck this time.
Nakamura swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Nakamura thumps Hoddle with a low kick.
Hoddle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hoddle walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nakamura checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Hideki Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamura's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Nakamura duly obliges.

It looks like Glen Hoddle has been cut.
Hoddle ducks under a wild hook from Nakamura.
A big right from Nakamura misses.
Nakamura throws a shot from downtown. Hoddle moves away and avoids it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nakamura misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hoddle.
Nakamura thuds his shin into the meat of Hoddle's side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hoddle has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nakamura clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hoddle softening up his opponent with strikes here.

You can see the frustration on Nakamura's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Nakamura covering up well and avoiding damage.
Hoddle lands punches and elbows.
The referee is taking a good look at Nakamura as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Hoddle!
Hoddle lands shots from the back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Nakamura tries to escape the position.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Hoddle.
Hoddle controlling well, preventing Nakamura from escaping the position.
Hoddle gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Hoddle lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Nakamura covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hoddle scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Nakamura can't escape the position.
Nakamura wants to control his opponent's hands but Hoddle gets his hands free.
Hoddle scores with punches to the body.

Nakamura is rocked!

Hoddle lands shots from the back.
Oh Nakamura is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hoddle wants to control but Nakamura is keeping busy.
Hoddle is loading up with his shots from the back and Nakamura is in big trouble! Nakamura taps out to strikes and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Glen Hoddle!
In his post fight interview, Glen Hoddle started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
