Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Dann (ranked 4446 p4p, 4420 weight class) and Dave Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dann darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Dann really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cross has his takedown stuffed
and Dann connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Dave Cross has been cut.
Dann rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cross moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cross tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Dann counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Cross with a poor takedown
and Dann counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cross with a lazy takedown attempt
and Dann counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Charlie Dann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Cross.
Dann catches Cross with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cross.

Cross tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dann sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cross somewhat.
Cross has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cross there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dann lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Cross fails with the takedown
and Dann counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dann is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Cross looks winded!
Sloppy strikes from Dann. Those never looked like landing.
Cross misses with a takedown
and Dann counters with a left and a right that stings Cross.

Dann scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Dave Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dann thuds a left hand into Cross's body.
Dann's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cross under the eye.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cross tries for a takedown but Dann circles away easily
and Dann connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Cross is rocked!
Dann ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Cross's jaw. Cross's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Dann does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
