Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Wylie (ranked 3288 p4p, 4219 weight class) and Pino Noir (ranked 417 p4p, 499 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sam Wylie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pino Noir!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wylie throws a shot from downtown. Noir moves away and avoids it.
It seemed like Noir was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Wylie drives through and clinches with Noir against the cage.

Noir escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Noir misses with an uppercut. Wylie saw that one coming.
Wylie slips under a jab.
Noir throws a good cross that connects.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wylie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wylie on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Noir.
Noir throws a lazy uppercut
and Wylie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Pino Noir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Noir stuffs the takedown.
Wylie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Noir waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wylie.
Noir misses with a looping left.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wylie blocks a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wylie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Noir paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wylie moves out of range of the strikes.
Wylie tries to close the distance and clinch but Noir swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wylie keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Noir.
Noir takes a swing at Wylie's ribcage but misses.
Wylie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Noir might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Noir throws a sloppy body shot
and Noir takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wylie misses with a jab, cross combination.
Noir throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Noir scores with a hook.
Noir ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wylie moves away.

Wylie moves into the clinch successfully.
A short uppercut from Wylie.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wylie tries a body shot but Noir blocks it.
Wylie digs a right hand into Noir's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Noir's gas tank.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A shot in the inside from Wylie.
Wylie has a couple of punches blocked by Noir.
Noir wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Wylie swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Wylie cracks Noir with a nice body shot.
Wylie lands a body punch in the clinch.
Wylie lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Noir backwards.
Wylie swings wildly with an uppercut but Noir uses good head movement to avoid it.

Wylie throws a head punch that misses.
Noir looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wylie keeps control of Noir as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Noir has had enough of the clinch but Wylie keeps him there for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wylie lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A frustrated look appears on Noir's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Wylie lands a shot to the body.
Wylie lands a hook to the side of the head.
Wylie is trying to pull guard but Noir turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Wylie throws a punch but it's blocked by Noir.
Noir blocking some punches.
Wylie can't find room to land a body shot as Noir controls the action.
Wylie looking to stall.
Wylie misses with a punch on the inside.
Wylie tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Noir's elbow.
Wylie lands with a light punch inside.
Wylie scores with a nice hook to the head.
Noir blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Wylie is trying to pull guard but Noir turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Wylie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wylie creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Wylie has a couple of punches blocked by Noir.

Wylie successfully pulls guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Noir is in close to Wylie's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Noir must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Noir with a nice head shot there.
Wylie avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Noir throws an elbow that misses. Wylie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Noir's guard. Nice move by Wylie!

Noir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wylie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wylie wants to control from the top but Noir keeps moving.

Wylie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wylie stands and throws Noir's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
You can see the frustration on Noir's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Wylie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wylie misses the shot to the body.
Noir looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Noir throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Wylie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A big right from Noir misses.
Wylie catches Noir with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Pino Noir seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wylie lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Noir is rocked!
Noir throws a lazy right hand but Wylie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Noir is still on wobbly legs! Can Wylie finish him?
Noir bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Wylie comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Noir falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Noir was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sam Wylie!
