The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinelli misses with a takedown attempt - Maccaselli sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Martinelli closes the distance and clinches up with Maccaselli, looking for a takedown. Martinelli pushes Maccaselli against the cage but Maccaselli circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Martinelli changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maccaselli tries to avoid it but Martinelli manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maccaselli to the ground. Maccaselli escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Martinelli shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Maccaselli is trying to defend but Martinelli finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
