Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darren Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Williams!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Williams closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Allen to the mat! Allen manages to get full guard.
Williams is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Allen keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully.

Allen throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Allen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Allen wants to stand but Williams is controlling the position.

Williams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Allen's head.
Williams looking to pass the guard.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Allen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Williams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Allen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williams has managed to get both his arms back between Allen's legs - danger averted.
Williams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Allen looking for a guillotine here but Williams defends easily.

Allen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Allen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Williams's guard.


The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Allen gets to his feet. Williams looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Williams throws a wild body kick that Allen sees coming a mile off.

Williams gets a double leg takedown into Allen's guard.
Williams lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Allen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Williams defends well.

Allen tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Allen thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Williams with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Williams drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Williams jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Allen has momentary wrist control but Williams slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Williams scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Allen pushes a forearm under Williams's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Williams is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
