The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Smiff drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Soderberg (0) vs (4) Smiff Soderberg gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Soderberg moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Soderberg working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smiff doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smiff manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Smiff must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Smiff is posturing up here but Soderberg has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Smiff tries to roll out but it's too tight and Smiff has to tap! Slick submission there by Soderberg!
