PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sup Tek (ranked 4403 p4p, 5370 weight class) and Dylan Schreiner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schreiner has chosen Clash Defiant as his entrance music. Dylan Schreiner is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sup Tek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dylan Schreiner!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schreiner lands a high kick!
Schreiner looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Tek scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Dylan Schreiner has been cut.
Schreiner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tek closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tek lands in his opponent's guard.
Tek lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tek throws an elbow that misses. Schreiner uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tek's guard. Nice move by Schreiner!

Schreiner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Schreiner is trying to get an arm triangle but Tek is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Tek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Tek tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tek could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Schreiner creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Tek sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Tek knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schreiner on the ground.

Schreiner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Schreiner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tek tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Schreiner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tek tries to escape but Schreiner is in control.
Schreiner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tek keeps working.
Tek tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Schreiner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Tek is looking to regain half guard here but Schreiner keeps moving and retains side control.
Tek is trying to control Schreiner's posture but Schreiner avoids it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Tek tries to bench press Schreiner off him but Schreiner keeps the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Tek scores with a hook.
Tek scores with a nice head shot.
Tek scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Schreiner moves forwards but Tek connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Schreiner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schreiner doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Tek lands a jab.
Tek misses with a few strikes there.
Tek lunges at Schreiner with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Schreiner's hand.
Tek fails with a takedown attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tek keeps the fight on the outside.

Tek shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tek tries to pass to full mount but Schreiner defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schreiner wants to control but Tek is keeping busy.
Tek is trying to control. Schreiner wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Tek tries to pass to full mount but Schreiner defends it.
Schreiner looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Tek working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Schreiner wants to improve his position but Tek is controlling well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!

Tek works Schreiner's body with a nice hook.
Tek circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sup Tek is winning the standup battle so far.
Tek throws a right and a left that Schreiner avoids nicely.
Tek swinging wildly here.
Schreiner looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Schreiner misses with a head kick.
Tek fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Schreiner avoids it really well and circles away.
Tek lands a jab-cross combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schreiner dodges the punch combination from Tek.
Tek is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Schreiner can do to turn this around?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Schreiner looking to break Tek's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Tek remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Schreiner will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
