Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marlon Lag (ranked 2999 p4p, 1856 weight class) and Johnny Munoz (ranked 330 p4p, 213 weight class). The key to victory for Marlon Lag has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marlon Lag!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munoz tries for a takedown but Lag circles away easily
and Lag counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Johnny Munoz has been cut.
Munoz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Munoz.
Lag tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Munoz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Lag gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Munoz fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Munoz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Munoz scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lag?
Munoz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lag's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lag manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Munoz connects with a nice short shot to Lag's temple.
Lag is staying active underneath Munoz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Munoz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Lag on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lag tries to get out of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lag is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Munoz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Munoz's back!
Munoz tries to roll but Lag sticks to his back.
Munoz looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Munoz tries to escape but Lag has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Lag is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Lag gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Lag gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Lag apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Lag shoots in and drives through. Munoz sprawls well.
Munoz has his takedown stuffed

and Lag counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Munoz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Munoz is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Lag gets back to full guard.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Munoz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Lag definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Munoz is in close to Lag's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Lag throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Munoz throws a big right hand that misses.

Lag working for a triangle but Munoz defends it easily.
Munoz is pushing down on Lag's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lag is fighting to maintain full guard but Munoz has managed to sneak the leg through.
Munoz is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Lag is staying active underneath Munoz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nice strikes from Munoz there.

Munoz looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Munoz lands a big elbow - Lag is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Munoz!
