Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Jack Fransisco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mirko Zoccato!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoccato takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Zoccato will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fransisco scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Zoccato is trying to get back to half guard.
Fransisco has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Zoccato is trying to work for a sweep but Fransisco has mounted him!
Zoccato can't escape the position.
Zoccato sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Zoccato has his hands clasped together around Fransisco's back. He's all about the action.
Fransisco knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zoccato on the ground.
Zoccato wants to control but Fransisco is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fransisco performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Fransisco thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fransisco lands a nice short elbow.

Zoccato looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Zoccato is not content to let Fransisco control the position.
Zoccato is trying to get back to full guard.
Zoccato gets back to full guard.
Zoccato is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Zoccato is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fransisco defends well.

Zoccato is looking for a triangle but Fransisco pushes his legs off easily.

Zoccato is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fransisco stays in close to Zoccato's body and controls the position.

Zoccato looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fransisco is one step ahead there.

Fransisco avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fransisco scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Zoccato is on top in guard.

Zoccato looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Fransisco on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fransisco tries to get out of the position.
It looks like Zoccato might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Fransisco throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fransisco can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Zoccato controls the pace.
Zoccato wants to control from the top but Fransisco keeps moving.
Zoccato looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Zoccato has gone for a leg lock! Fransisco slips out almost immediately though and dives into Zoccato's guard.

Fransisco wants to stand but Zoccato has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Zoccato wants to sweep but no luck.

Zoccato escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fransisco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fransisco content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Zoccato looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Zoccato is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fransisco trying to control but Zoccato is working from the bottom.
Zoccato is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Zoccato has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Fransisco doesn't defend quickly enough and Zoccato has managed to lock this one up! Can Fransisco escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Zoccato on a fantastic submission victory.
