Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fraser Morris!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Topper Green and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Morris.

James closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
James trying to land knees to the body.

James breaks from the clinch.

James gets in close and instigates a clinch.

James decides to pull guard.
James really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Morris trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Morris is fighting to break James's control of his arms but James is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Morris presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
James looks to land a body kick but Morris moved away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James connects with an inside leg kick.
Morris keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
John James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.

James instigates a clinch.

James tightens his grip and picks Morris up, before dumping him to the ground. Morris manages to land in guard.
Morris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
James is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

James gets to his feet. Morris looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Morris shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts James as he jumps to the side.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morris moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

James pushes Morris up against the cage in a clinch.
James keeps control of Morris as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

James lands a takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morris can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as James controls the pace.
Morris can't keep his opponent in guard - James advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

James is trying to work for a kimura but Morris is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. James lands a nice short elbow.
James prevents Morris from improving his position.
James lands with a punch from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Morris is trying to get back to full guard.
James is controlling the pace.
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morris keeps working.
Morris trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John James dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A momentary lapse in concentration from Morris enables James to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Morris wants to get back to his feet but James passes into half guard.

James wants to take a breather but Morris is having none of it.
James works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James cracks Morris with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James raining down hammerfists from mount.
Morris looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
James is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Morris can do to turn this around?

That's one minute gone in the round.

Morris is trying to defend against the choke here but James has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. James Tightens the hold and Morris taps out furiously! James displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). John James!
Fraser Morris spoke after the fight, saying 'Thank you all for the chance to show my skills in the cage.'.
