Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Kirby (ranked 4155 p4p, 2878 weight class) and Peter Pickle (ranked 0 p4p, 330 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Kirby does no damage.
Kirby throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pickle swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Kirby checks the leg kick nicely there.
Kirby throws a looping overhand right but Pickle ducks down to avoid it.
Kirby misses with a hook. Pickle ducked under it nicely.
And Pickle tries to counter it with a takedown but Kirby pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Pickle drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pickle controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pickle's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Pickle sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kirby's guard.
Still in half guard, Pickle seems content to control.

Kirby pushes Pickle off looking to stand but Pickle dives back in and keeps control.
Pickle is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Kirby keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pickle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kirby circles away quickly and effectively.
Pickle misses with a hook.

As Pickle looks to move away, Kirby throws a big counter combo but Pickle just gets out of the way.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
It looks like Pickle might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kirby enables Pickle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kirby manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pickle passes Kirby's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Pickle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pickle is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Let's hope that Pickle has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Pickle throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Kirby has his hands clasped together but Pickle breaks the hold and Kirby is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Pickle!
