Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joey Barboza (ranked 3418 p4p, 5710 weight class) and Brain Rupture (ranked 381 p4p, 492 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brain Rupture!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barboza rushes Rupture and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Barboza goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Barboza lands a takedown into guard.

Barboza drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rupture looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rupture looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rupture!

Rupture is just content to waste time from the top position. Barboza takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Rupture throws a strike but Barboza rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rupture has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Barboza postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rupture is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Barboza, into his guard.

Rupture lands a couple of elbows.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brain Rupture will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Rupture throws a hook to the side of Barboza's head but Barboza sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

It looks like Joey Barboza has been cut.

Rupture is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Barboza looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rupture working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rupture wants to control but Barboza is keeping him busy.

Rupture is nestled in close to Barboza, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Barboza looks like he's trying to stand up.

Rupture thows a huge punch but Barboza dodges it nicely.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rupture has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Barboza wants to clinch up but Rupture keeps it at a distance.

Brain Rupture showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Rupture closes this distance looking for a takedown but Barboza circles away.

Barboza goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rupture rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Barboza's guard! Nice work there by Rupture!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rupture postures up in Barboza's guard and throws a big left but Barboza blocks it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rupture's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Rupture sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barboza's guard.
Rupture scores with a big shot! Barboza's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Barboza! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brain Rupture!
Brain Rupture really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Neon Zombie logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
