PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Dekkers (ranked 4200 p4p, 3709 weight class) and Deep Bluez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bluez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Live And Learn. The key to victory for Peter Dekkers has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Dekkers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Deep Bluez!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dekkers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Some wild striking there from Dekkers.
Bluez moves forwards but Dekkers connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dekkers scores with a jab. Bluez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Bluez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dekkers did well to prevent Bluez getting side control.

Dekkers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bluez on the ground.

Bluez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dekkers with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Bluez working his ground and pound in the gym.

Bluez decides to stand and escape the position.
Dekkers throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bluez wants to counter with a clinch but Dekkers pushes him away.

and Bluez counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bluez is nestled in close to Dekkers, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bluez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Dekkers won't allow Bluez to pass to mount.

Bluez is trying for a kimura here. Dekkers looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Bluez wins by kimura!

Deep Bluez opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
