Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Grispi (ranked 4229 p4p, 6052 weight class) and Jatt Ji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Grispi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jatt Ji's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Ji counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ji.
Ji wants to get up but he can't break Grispi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Grispi is doing well to control the position and prevent Ji from advancing to side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grispi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ji's waist but Ji gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grispi off to one side.

Grispi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ji is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Grispi.
