Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Bomstaerk!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Kosmanov!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kosmanov misses the shot to the body.
Bomstaerk dives in and grabs Kosmanov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kosmanov pushes down on Bomstaerk's head and hops out.
Bomstaerk throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kosmanov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bobby Bomstaerk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Bomstaerk throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bomstaerk connects with a body shot that sends Kosmanov's belly button to the back.
Bomstaerk looks to land a right hand but Kosmanov moved out of range.
Bomstaerk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bomstaerk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kosmanov is fending him off so far but Bomstaerk persists. Nope, Kosmanov circles away and we're back to standing.

Bomstaerk throws the left hand but Kosmanov avoids the punch easily.
Kosmanov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Bomstaerk tried to score with a low kick but Kosmanov checks it.

and Kosmanov makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kosmanov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Bomstaerk fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kosmanov avoids it really well and circles away.
Bomstaerk fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kosmanov is out of range.
Bomstaerk throws a right hand that Kosmanov ducks under and follows up with a left that Kosmanov also avoids with ease.
Kosmanov lands a nice shot that snaps Bomstaerk's head back.

Bomstaerk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kosmanov is fending him off so far but Bomstaerk persists. Nope, Kosmanov circles away and we're back to standing.
Kosmanov let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Bomstaerk shoots in and drives through. Kosmanov sprawls well.
Bomstaerk ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kosmanov moves away.
Kosmanov lands a nice hook to Bomstaerk's body. Bomstaerk takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bomstaerk takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A combination from Bomstaerk does no damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bomstaerk misses with the body kick
and Kosmanov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bomstaerk walks straight into a right hand from Kosmanov - that's dropped him! Kosmanov jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bomstaerk from any more punishment! Bomstaerk complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Vladimir Kosmanov!

Our winner, Vladimir Kosmanov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
