PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between BJ Penncil (ranked 4101 p4p, 25169 weight class) and Tyler Foster (ranked 495 p4p, 625 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Penncil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Foster!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foster will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Penncil shoots in and drives through. Foster sprawls well.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Foster working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Foster postures up in Penncil's guard and throws a big left but Penncil blocks it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Foster shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Penncil sprawls well. Penncil wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Foster gets slowly back to his feet.
BJ Penncil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Foster.

Penncil is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Foster.
Foster tries to clinch but Penncil is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that BJ Penncil will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Foster got a little sloppy there for a moment and Penncil has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Foster has managed to get both his arms back between Penncil's legs - danger averted.

I think Foster has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
