Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mounir Ayari (ranked 4255 p4p, 5522 weight class) and Henry Betham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ayari kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Yallah Rouh - Samira Said. Henry Betham has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Betham shoots for a double leg takedown but Ayari sprawls well. He's pushed Betham's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Betham tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ayari sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Betham somewhat.
Ayari closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Betham is trying to trip Ayari. He has hold of a leg but Ayari is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Betham persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Betham throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ayari works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Betham stands up over Ayari, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Ayari holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Ayari knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Betham on the ground.

Ayari is refusing to be controlled, as Betham sits in half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Betham moves into the clinch.
Betham prevents a body shot from Ayari.

Betham wants to break free but Ayari has control.
Ayari tries to work over Betham's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Ayari lands a hook to the side of the head.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Betham blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Betham struggles to land a body shot inside as Ayari controls his hands.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ayari gets a clinch.
Ayari scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Ayari lands with a light punch inside.
Ayari throws a punch but it's blocked by Betham.
Ayari lands a right hand that snaps the head of Betham backwards.

Ayari is leaning against Betham and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Ayari lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Ayari tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Ayari is pressed up against the cage. Betham has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ayari down to the mat. Ayari avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ayari jabs Betham to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ayari connects with a body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ayari lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Betham shoots in looking for a takedown. Ayari tries to sprawl out of it but Betham keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ayari manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ayari closes the distance and clinches.
Ayari lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Ayari misses with a short punch on the inside.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Ayari.
Ayari lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Betham can't get the takedown.
Mounir Ayari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry Betham.

Betham changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ayari fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ayari fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Betham, pushing him back against the cage.

Ayari throws a punch but it's blocked by Betham.
Betham is looking for a takedown.
Betham is breathing heavily.
Ayari lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Ayari pushes Betham against the cage. Ayari is working some dirty boxing. Ayari pushes off with a quick right hook! Betham goes down! Betham tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Ayari moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

During a confident post fight interview, Mounir Ayari thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
