Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murphy Law (ranked 4401 p4p, 4392 weight class) and Maximus Bane (ranked 0 p4p, 173 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bane is looking to clinch but Law is avoiding it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Law looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Law gets caught napping as Bane dives in and scores a takedown. Law manages to retain guard.
Bane tries to free his leg and advance position but Law is retaining full guard.
Law looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bane is one step ahead there.
Law controls Bane momentarily but Bane frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bane trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Law wants to stand but Bane is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bane wants to control from the top but Law keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bane trying to stand up but can't free himself from Law's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Bane fails to land the takedown.

Law gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bane is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Law looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bane is one step ahead there.
Law working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bane.
Bane not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Bane wants to control from the top but Law keeps moving.

Bane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Law keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bane has closed the distance and engaged Law in a clinch.
Bane dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Law misses with a hook to the ribs.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bane feints and as Law raises his hands in defense, Bane changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Law looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bane passes into side control.
Law sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Bane stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
A looping hook to the body misses from Law. Bane does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bane throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Law.
Bane shoots for a takedown but Law saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Murphy Law has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maximus Bane.
Bane keeps the fight on the outside.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bane takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Law fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bane sprawls well initially but Law persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Maximus Bane dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Law shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Law was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bane is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Law is controlling him well.
Bane gets back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Law tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bane knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Law is trying to control. Bane wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bane controlling the position well.
Bane is trying to stand up here but Law is controlling him well.
Law trying to control from half guard but Bane is working away.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bane looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Bane clinches with his opponent.
Still in the clinch, Bane scores with a nice short uppercut.
Law is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bane is defending well for now.

Bane manages to break the clinch.
Bane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Law sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bane somewhat.

Law slaps away a takedown attempt from Bane, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Bane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bane's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bane wants to get up but he can't break Law's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Law looking to control.
Law tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bane postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Law is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bane, into his guard.

Bane lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Law is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bane controls from within his opponent's guard.
Let's hope that Bane has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Law keeping moving, preventing Bane from controlling successfully.

Bane drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Law dives on top into guard.

Bane is trying to keep Law in close.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Law gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Maximus Bane will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Law pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Murphy Law is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Law throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bane was covering up waiting for the punch and Law finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Law avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bane is pulling down on Law's head. It's preventing any offense from Law, at least for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Law has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bane is proving hard to escape from.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bane throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Law avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bane is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Law is aware though and is defending well.
Bane wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Law clinches up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bane jumps guard but Law turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Bane tries to break the clinch but Law is controlling the position.
A frustrated look appears on Bane's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Law goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bane prevents it.
Bane connects with a knee to the head.

It looks like Murphy Law has been cut.

Bane has picked Law up - he's going for a ride! Bane dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Law scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Bane manages to mount him!

Bane looking to secure an arm triangle but Law defends it well.

Bane throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Bane lands with some strikes.
Law is just holding on here. Bane manages to take his back.
Bane scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Law covers up after that shot from Bane.
Law just trying to survive but Bane is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Bane controlling the positon.

Can Law hold on?! Bane is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Law tries to escape the position.
Murphy Law has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Maximus Bane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight!
