Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freaky Fred!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jackson Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw scores with a shot to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Fred. No joy for Shaw on that attempt.
Shaw wants to clinch up but Fred keeps it at a distance.
Shaw gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Fred counters with a shoot takedown. Shaw fights it but they end up in guard.
Fred definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fred wants to pass the guard but Shaw is keeping the position.
Fred trying to control the position from guard on top but Shaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shaw looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shaw is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fred is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaw had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fred defends it easily.

Fred wants to control from the top but Shaw keeps moving.
Shaw throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Fred trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Fred trying to control but Shaw is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Shaw connects with a nice looking jab.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Freaky Fred has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Shaw.
Fred content to control rather than advance.
Fred wants to pass to mount but Shaw is defending the position.
Shaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fred is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Shaw sees it coming and defends easily.
Fred seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shaw does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fred is pressing down on Shaw's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shaw is holding on for now.
Shaw is staying active underneath Fred, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Shaw is trying to control Fred's posture. Fred takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Shaw! Fred is rotating here... this could be the end... Shaw is out! Fred has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
