PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre The Tank (ranked 2850 p4p, 4306 weight class) and Antoni Josh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Tank comes to the cage accompanied by Hulk Smash. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andre The Tank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antoni Josh!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Josh looks to land a combination. The Tank sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The Tank fails with the takedown
and Josh makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Tank postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Josh tries to land a sweep but no joy.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as The Tank accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The Tank shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The Tank stands up over Josh, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Josh utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The Tank has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Josh is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Josh can't keep his opponent in guard - The Tank advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The Tank might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Andre The Tank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Josh has his feet on The Tank's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

The Tank is nestled in close to Josh, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Josh is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down The Tank rather than just go for the knockout.

Josh pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces The Tank back to the cage. Josh follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Josh feints a jab promting The Tank to slip. Josh then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. The Tank slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Josh fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. The Tank looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The Tank takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Josh has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The Tank shoots and misses
and Josh counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The Tank doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Josh scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. The Tank doesn't seem bothered though.
Josh lands a really nice looking cross but The Tank seems unphased.

Josh has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. The Tank has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

The Tank manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Josh on his heels. He'll look to pass Josh's guard now, I'm sure.

I think Josh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
