Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Time To Fight Wright (ranked 3351 p4p, 5496 weight class) and Keith Thurman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thurman is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Stray Bullet. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keith Thurman !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thurman slips under a jab.
A nice combination there by Thurman .
Thurman throws a combination. Wright tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Wright fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Thurman to the ground. Wright is now in Thurman 's guard.
Thurman looking for a sweep. Not yet Thurman , not yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wright trying to control but Thurman is working from the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Wright stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thurman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wright controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Wright shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Thurman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wright trying to control the position from guard on top but Thurman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Thurman is adopting a defensive guard.
Wright is looking to pass into half guard but Thurman pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Thurman is in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thurman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Thurman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Wright looking to control.

Wright is looking to cinch up a triangle. Thurman throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Wright's body to avoid the submission. Wright has instead reached around Thurman 's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Wright arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Time To Fight Wright!
