The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jackson wants to clinch up but Lawrence keeps it at a distance.

Jackson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lawrence to the mat! Lawrence manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lawrence working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jackson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lawrence isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jackson stacks Lawrence on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jackson!
Lawrence is looking for a sweep.
Lawrence throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lawrence on the ground.
Lawrence regains half guard.
Jackson wants to control but Lawrence is keeping him busy.

Jackson tries to stand but can't do so whilst Lawrence controls his leg.
Lawrence gets back to full guard.

Lawrence has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.

Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Lawrence is retaining full guard.
Lawrence looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there.

Lawrence is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jackson is aware though and is defending well.

Jackson is sitting in close to Lawrence's body. Lawrence has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jackson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jackson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lawrence.
