Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mitch Kingston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raul Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez lands a head shot.
Kingston looks to land a right hand but Rodriguez moved out of range.
Rodriguez misses with a hook.
Kingston misses with a wild body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kingston. Rodriguez does a little dance to reset his feet.
A nice side step and Rodriguez releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Rodriguez throws a leg kick but Kingston sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kingston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kingston misses with an uppercut.
We've been told by Kingston's head coaches at Helsinki Private Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Kingston was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kingston rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rodriguez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rodriguez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Raul Rodriguez has been cut.

and Rodriguez counters with a stiff right hand.

Kingston uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rodriguez has time to react.
Kingston scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rodriguez in his tracks.

Rodriguez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

That has opened up Raul Rodriguez's cut even more.
Rodriguez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kingston throws out the jab.

Rodriguez will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mitch Kingston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looked like Kingston wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Kingston lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Rodriguez throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kingston counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

After winning the bout, Mitch Kingston thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
