Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keir Toal (ranked 22702 p4p, 23277 weight class) and Pawel Nastula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toal's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Irish Pub Song. Pawel Nastula has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Keir Toal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 47 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Nastula!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toal lands the left hand.
Nastula is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Toal throws a combination. Nastula tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Nastula showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Toal.
Nastula tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Toal paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Toal quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Toal fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Toal throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Nastula looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Toal misses with the combination.
Toal lands with a nice combination. Nastula backs away looking to recover.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Nastula throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Toal throwing a counter right hand but Nastula manages to avoid it.
Nastula changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Toal tries to avoid it but Nastula manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Toal to the ground. Toal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nastula feints and as Toal raises his hands in defense, Nastula changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Toal has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Nastula is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Toal lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Nastula goes for a takedown attempt but Toal pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nastula is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Nastula doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A nice leg kick from Toal, right into the meat of the thigh.
Toal is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Crunch! Toal slams his shin into Nastula's torso.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nastula shoots in looking for a takedown but Toal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nastula's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Keir Toal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pawel Nastula.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nastula enables Toal to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nastula manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nastula is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Toal moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Nastula wants to pass the guard but Toal is keeping the position.

Nastula wants to control from the top but Toal keeps moving.

Toal has Nastula pulled in close to control his posture.
Toal has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Toal wants to sweep here but Nastula controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toal's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Toal's jab looks to have found its range, popping Nastula under the eye.
Nastula tries to move into range but Toal moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Toal tries to bum rush Nastula with a series of wild strikes but Nastula uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nastula is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Toal is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Nastula will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Toal tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Toal.

Nastula felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Toal tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Toal looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nastula with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

We've been hearing that Toal has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Toal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Toal seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nastula for as long as he can get away with.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Toal is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Nastula is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well Toal has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
