PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danila Bagrov (ranked 4837 p4p, 1321 weight class) and Hank Houston (ranked 466 p4p, 176 weight class). Hank Houston told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bagrov lands a slapping body shot.
Houston cracks Bagrov with a good jab.

It looks like Danila Bagrov has been cut.

It looks like Hank Houston has been cut.
Houston closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Houston wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Houston's coach down at Temple of Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Houston's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Bagrov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Houston tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bagrov was well out of range. Poor timing from Houston.
Houston ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bagrov moves away.
Bagrov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Houston swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Bagrov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Houston throws an overhand right that lands on Bagrov's shoulder, as Bagrov tries to avoid the shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Houston works Bagrov's body with a nice hook.
Bagrov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Houston.
Houston connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Houston ducks under a wild hook from Bagrov.
Bagrov cracks Houston with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Houston tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Bagrov pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Houston is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Danila Bagrov!
