Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregoire Aebersold (ranked 3855 p4p, 4391 weight class) and Stephen Garver (ranked 464 p4p, 484 weight class). Gregoire Aebersold has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gregoire Aebersold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stephen Garver!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aebersold shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garver as he avoids it easily.
Garver feints a counter leg kick.
Aebersold shoots in for a double leg but Garver sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aebersold darts in looking for a takedown but Garver gets double underhooks and turns Aebersold into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gregoire Aebersold. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Aebersold manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Garver manages to get himself to full guard.
Aebersold not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Aebersold stands and throws Garver's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Garver is not content to let Aebersold control the position.
Garver wants to control but Aebersold postures up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Aebersold is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Garver will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Garver is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Aebersold asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Aebersold is looking to take a break and control but Garver is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Garver rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Aebersold moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Garver fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Aebersold looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Garver throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Aebersolds head.
Garver scores with a shot to the side of Aebersold's head.
I was talking to Aebersold's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Aebersold tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Garver lands with a light punch inside.
Garver jumps guard and drags Aebersold to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Aebersold wants to control from the top but Garver keeps moving.
Garver has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Aebersold off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Aebersold has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Aebersold there as he acknowledges the shot.
