PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommi Ritola (ranked 2699 p4p, 5021 weight class) and Mariusz Pudzianowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pudzianowski misses with a low kick.
Ritola looks to score with a jab to the body but Pudzianowski is just out of range.
Ritola moves out of range of the leg kick from Pudzianowski.
Pudzianowski throws a leg kick
and Ritola counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Mariusz Pudzianowski has been cut.
Ritola looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Pudzianowski misses with a low kick.
Pudzianowski tries to score with a low kick but Ritola moves his leg out of the way.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pudzianowski has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Ritola misses the shot to the body.
Pudzianowski swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Pudzianowski moves away from the strike by Ritola.
Pudzianowski throws a low kick, looking for Ritola's leg but Ritola calmly moves out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pudzianowski crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ritola - the referee stops the clock and Pudzianowski gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ritola. Pudzianowski manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Ritola lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ritola looks to score with a jab to the body but Pudzianowski is just out of range.
Pudzianowski on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ritola. Ritola obviously looking to wear him down.
Mariusz Pudzianowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ritola lands a big head kick that sends Pudzianowski tumbling to the mat! Ritola takes a step backwards and waves Pudzianowski back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pudzianowski throws out a leg kick but Ritola moves out of range and Pudzianowski only half commits.

Ritola sends Pudzianowski crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Ritola is motioning to the referee to let Pudzianowski up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Pudzianowski is rocked!
Ritola throws a shot from downtown. Pudzianowski moves away and avoids it.
And Pudzianowski tries to counter it with a takedown but Ritola pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Ritola lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Ritola counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
