Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Hans!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jacobs rushes Hans and presses him up against the cage.

Hans has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jacobs is trying to keep an underhook but Hans manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Hans is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hans is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jacobs is just riding it out for now. Hans eventually gives up the hold.

Hans is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jacobs wants to get back to his feet.
Jacobs trying to control from the bottom.

Hans is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jacobs has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hans looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hans looks winded!

Hans is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Jacobs as he works his way to full guard.

Jacobs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hans doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hans manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hans drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jacobs dives on top into guard.

Jacobs decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Jacobs goes for a double leg but Hans avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hans continues to drive forward.
Hans lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Jacobs ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jacobs no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hans drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jacobs manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hans has Jacobs in his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jacobs stays in close to Hans's body and controls the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jacobs slips nicely into half guard.
Jacobs trying to control the action but Hans is working from the bottom.
Jacobs takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jacobs is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hans!
Jacobs is trying to take his opponent's back.
Jacobs trying to control but Hans is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jacobs tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Henry Jacobs dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jacobs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jacobs has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hans clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hans is breathing heavily.

Jacobs is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hans has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jacobs wants to control but Hans is keeping busy.
Henry Jacobs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jacobs patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Jacobs tries to get the hooks in deep but Hans pushed the leg off.
Jacobs is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hans is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Jacobs is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jacobs is working for a rear naked choke. Hans is not defending it well and Jacobs has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Hans refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Hans's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Henry Jacobs!
