Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Peterson (ranked 3892 p4p, 24368 weight class) and Maximus Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson's entrance music is Berzerk by Eminem. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maximus Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Watson and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson scores with a jab to the body.
Peterson looks to land a combination but Gonzalez avoids it well.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gonzalez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Gonzalez goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Peterson is looking for a counter combo.
Gonzalez doesn't manage to clinch there - Peterson circles away.
Peterson misses with the combination.
Gonzalez misses with a few strikes there.

Peterson clinches.
Peterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Peterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Peterson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gonzalez.
Gonzalez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A low kick lands for Gonzalez.
Gonzalez avoids the head kick by Peterson.
Despite the aggression on Gonzalez's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Gonzalez tries to clinch but Peterson moves out of range.

Peterson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Gonzalez is looking to get back to his feet here but Peterson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Gonzalez's back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
You can see the frustration on Gonzalez's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Peterson controls the action.

Gonzalez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Peterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Peterson punishes Gonzalez with strikes from the back mount.
Peterson lands strikes to the head.

Gonzalez won't enjoy being in this position. Peterson looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Gonzalez is tapping - it's over boys! Peterson picks up the submission victory!
