Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Pelvis (ranked 4085 p4p, 3991 weight class) and Rashid Atkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashid Atkins!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Darius Henderson and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelvis scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Rashid Atkins has been cut.
Pelvis misses with a left hand

and Atkins counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Atkins looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Atkins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Atkins drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pelvis dives on top into guard.

Atkins wants to stand and escape but Pelvis is having none of it.
Pelvis wants to get up but he can't break Atkins's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Atkins pushes Pelvis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Atkins shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pelvis's guard.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Pelvis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Atkins's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Atkins thows a huge punch but Pelvis dodges it nicely.

Atkins has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pelvis lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Atkins shoots in for a takedown but Pelvis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Atkins feints and as Pelvis raises his hands in defense, Atkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rashid Atkins has got the better of the ground game so far.
Atkins controls from within his opponent's guard.
Atkins stands and throws Pelvis's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Atkins works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Atkins happy to just control the position for now.
Atkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Pelvis managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Atkins.
The referee asks Atkins politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Atkins prefers to stall for the moment though.

Atkins in side control, just content to control the action for now.

The strikes coming from Atkins are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Rashid Atkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Atkins is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pelvis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Atkins or perhaps it was just good defense by Pelvis, which made it look bad.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Let's hope that Atkins has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Atkins throws a head kick but Pelvis moves out of range.

Atkins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pelvis avoids it really well and circles away.
Michael Pelvis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rashid Atkins.
Pelvis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pelvis throws a lazy right hand but Atkins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Atkins is taking a breather. Pelvis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
