Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aurelius Augustus (ranked 21 p4p, 401 weight class) and Jin Yi (ranked 4 p4p, 53 weight class). Yi has chosen Wobble as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, Aurelius Augustus!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jin Yi!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Augustus thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Yi if he has to take too many more of those.
Augustus throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Yi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Yi throws a predictable looking body shot
and Augustus counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Augustus connects with a good right hand that stumbles Yi. Yi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Yi digs a good body shot into Augustus's ribs.
Augustus tries a head kick but it misses.
Yi scores with a jab to the head.
Augustus cracks Yi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Augustus throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Yi walks into a stiff left hand from Augustus.
Augustus looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yi takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Augustus feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Yi sprawling to the canvas! Yi rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Augustus finish him?!

It looks like Jin Yi has been cut.
A chopping leg kick lands by Augustus.

Augustus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yi was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Yi seems to have recovered his senses.
Yi looks to land a left hand but Augustus moved out of range nicely.
Yi shoots in for a takedown but Augustus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Yi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Yi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Yi has gone for a leg lock! Augustus slips out almost immediately though and dives into Yi's guard.
Yi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Augustus is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Yi.
Augustus gets to mount! Yi was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Yi is desperately trying to improve his position but Augustus has a good base and remains in mount.

Yi is wriggling around trying to escape.
Yi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Yi manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Augustus content to control rather than advance.
Augustus prevents Yi from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Yi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Augustus defends well.
