Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shane OMalley (ranked 3669 p4p, 5671 weight class) and Carlos Pereira (ranked 199 p4p, 251 weight class). Shane OMalley had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Carlos Pereira is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane OMalley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Pereira!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira misses with a head kick.
A shot to the body from OMalley misses
and Pereira counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
OMalley pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pereira back to the cage. OMalley follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Pereira is rocked!
OMalley misses with a two punch combination.
OMalley throws a body kick that misses.
Pereira lands a jab to the nose.
OMalley does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
OMalley misses with a double jab
and Pereira counters with a nice kick to the body.
OMalley moves into range and connects with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pereira looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
OMalley lands a left and a right that send Pereira crashing to the mat, dazed. OMalley thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Pereira is still on wobbly legs! Can OMalley finish him?
Pereira throws a series of punches but OMalley avoids them all with ease.
OMalley seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Left hook, right uppercut from OMalley.
OMalley definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
OMalley fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Pereira to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Pereira looks to clinch but OMalley throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Pereira taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Shane OMalley!
Shane OMalley bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
