PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Khamzat Chimaev (ranked 2845 p4p, 2763 weight class) and Paddy Sly (ranked 377 p4p, 365 weight class). Chimaev comes into the arena with Katioucha blaring out of the sound system. Paddy Sly will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Sly misses its intended target.

Sly has Chimaev up against the cage in a clinch.
Sly tries to stall but Chimaev uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Sly slows down the pace here.
Sly lands a right hand that snaps the head of Chimaev backwards.

Chimaev gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sly regains guard.
Chimaev throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chimaev works over Sly with some ground and pound from guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chimaev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chimaev has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sly to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Chimaev is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sly pulls down on the head and he's put Chimaev to sleep! This one is all over!
